Nepalese defender Bimala BK has touched down in the capital on Tuesday to join Bangladesh Women's Football League champions Rajshahi Stars FC for their historic AFC Women's Champions League campaign.

Despite facing strong opponents in the upcoming AFC Women's Champions League, Nepalese defender Bimala BK of Rajshahi Stars FC is not willing to consider herself weak in any way. Upon arriving in Dhaka, she said that Rajshahi Stars FC, which is going to write a new chapter in the history of Bangladesh women's football, wants to enter the field to win every match.

Upon her arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Bimala BK was welcomed by the team manager and assistant coach of Rajshahi Stars FC. This Nepalese defender, who is playing for the current champions of the Bangladesh League, Rajshahi Stars for the second time, described the opportunity to participate in one of the biggest club competitions in Asia as a matter of pride for her.

Bimala told BK, “I have come to play for Rajshahi for the second time. That is why I am more happy. However, I am even more excited that I will be playing in the AFC Cup. It is really an honor to play on a big stage like Asia. Where Rajshahi and Bangladesh are playing for the first time. I am really proud to be a part of that team.”

Bimala has expressed her determination to give her best in every match within the short preparation period. Although she respects her opponent, this Nepalese defender is reluctant to give up on anyone. She said,

“We do not consider our opponent weak at all. That does not mean that we are weak. We want to win every match and go to the next round as group champions. For that, I want your support.”

Bimala wants to have confidence in her own ability without thinking too much about the opponent’s strength. Her main goal now is to give her best in every match in Rajshahi Stars’ historic journey in the AFC Women’s Champions League and ensure the next round.

Rajshahi Stars FC, the current champions of the Bangladesh Women's Football League, are looking forward to their debut in the AFC Women's Champions League, the biggest stage of club football in Asia. The team has strengthened their preparations in the country with the preliminary stage starting in Malaysia on August 17.

Rajshahi Stars held their third day of practice at Kamalapur Stadium on Tuesday. Despite the sunny weather, the footballers practiced for a long time under the team's head coach Golam Rabbani Chhotan.

While the first two days of practice focused on physical fitness and team coordination, the third day's session focused on match situations, passing, positioning and coordination of the attacking wing. In the meantime, the team's Nepalese defender Bimala B has also arrived in Dhaka and joined the team.

The team's assistant coach Md. Zahir Iqbal said that they are optimistic about their preparations and are continuing to practice according to their plan without taking any extra pressure.

Alpi Akhter, who was the top scorer for Rajshahi Stars in the last Women's Football League, is ready to play an important role in the team's attack in the Asian stage as well. Her goal is to perform to the best of her ability in this big competition.
