Samiul Islam Rafi presented a gold medal to the newly formed ad hoc committee of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation.

The Bangladesh Navy swimmer achieved this feat in the 50-meter backstroke at the Thailand Age Group Swimming Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday. He secured the gold medal by swimming in 24.33 seconds.

Meanwhile, Sami narrowly missed out on the gold medal in the 50-meter butterfly and won the bronze medal. He took 24.43 seconds to win this medal.

It is worth noting that Rafi's 50-meter backstroke time of 24.33 seconds is faster than the SA Games record time of 24.40 seconds. Not only that, but through his excellent performance, he created a new record in this championship and won the gold medal.

Swimmers from a total of 60 clubs or teams from 16 countries are participating in this championship in Thailand.
