The executive committee of the Bangladesh Press Club, France, an organisation of Bangladeshi journalists working in France, has been formed. Iqbal Mohammad Zafar, France correspondent for DBC News and Channel S UK, announced the names of the new committee at a launch and general meeting held at an elite restaurant in Paris on Thursday afternoon.
Rupali Bangladesh's France correspondent and Bangla Telegram editor Shah Suhel Ahmed has been appointed as the president and Daily Amadre Shomro's France correspondent Ashiq Ahmed Ullas as the general secretary. The other leaders of the 11-member committee are - Vice President, renowned sports journalist Jan-e-Alam, Deputy Editor of Abirama Bangla.com, Joint General Secretary, Iqra Bangla TV UK's France correspondent Abu Bakar Al Amin, Treasurer, Asia Post's France correspondent Saiful Islam Roni, Publicity Secretary, Bangla Telegram's Senior Reporter Tanvir Talukder, Sports and Cultural Editor, Bangladesh Today and Sangbad Pratidin's France correspondent Nipu Barua, Office Secretary, Euro Bangla 24's Editor Mohammad Kaiser Ahmed. In addition, Badal Pal, France correspondent of My TV and Daily Mukta Khabar, Iqbal Mohammad Zafar, France correspondent of DBC News and Channel S UK, and Sahad Uddin, France correspondent of Daily Jugberi have been appointed as the executive members.
The meeting unanimously gave the new committee responsibility for the next two years.
The leaders of the newly formed committee said that the organization will work to strengthen the professional status, mutual cooperation and unity of Bangladeshi journalists working in France, as well as to develop objective journalism and professional skills. At the same time, emphasis will be placed on projecting a positive image of Bangladesh in France and more effectively reporting on the various problems and successes of Bangladeshis living abroad.
