IHF Women's Nations Trophy 2026
Open trial and training camp begins
IHF Women's Nations Trophy 2026 (Zone II Asia) - Bangladesh is all set to be held in Dhaka from 18 to 22 October this year, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF) and managed by the Bangladesh Handball Federation.
The national women's handball teams of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Yemen will participate in the competition.
With the aim of forming a strong, efficient and effective national women's handball team representing Bangladesh in this international competition, the open trial camp started on Saturday at the initiative of the Bangladesh Handball Federation.
The trial camp activities are being conducted with a total of 76 women's handball players, including 47 women handball players initially selected by the selection committee and 29 players who applied through the circular published for the open trial. The ongoing open trial camp will be held until 18 August 2026.
Later, 35 players will be selected by the selection committee based on the performance, skills, abilities and overall analysis of the players.
The final training camp of the national women's handball team will begin with the selected players, through which a strong and competitive national team will be prepared to participate in the upcoming IHF Women's Nations Trophy 2026 (Zone II Asia) - Bangladesh competition.
