Bangladesh National Hockey Team, which consists of players in the upcoming Asian Games squad, faced the U-20 Hockey Team (who are in the Asia Cup camp at BKSP) in a practice match on Monday. The national team won the match by a margin of 7-1 goals.

After the match, the national team's head coach Peter Gerhard spoke about the team's overall performance and future plans. The coach is very happy that the players demonstrated exactly what was taught in practice on the field in the match. However, he is not willing to be complacent with this win. While evaluating the players' performance on the field, Peter Gerhard said, "I am never satisfied easily, we still have a lot of work to do. However, I was a little surprised and overwhelmed by the boys' performance today. They showed some great movements on the field. Whatever we discussed in practice and what we did in practice, they showed in the match today. We are moving in the right direction."

Praising the current squad of the national team, he added, "As I have always said, this team has a lot of talent. Their specialty is that they can quickly master whatever you tell them or do in practice and bring it to the match. But even then, we still have some shortcomings and problems, which we need to work on intensively."

Reminding us of the tough challenges of the Asian Games ahead, the coach warned, "We must not forget that our real goal is the first match against South Korea. Today, Korea is a completely different and very high-caliber team from the ones we played. So, we have a lot of big challenges and hard work ahead of us. However, I am overall happy with the position the team is in at the moment."

The Bangladesh Hockey Federation is hopeful that with the coach's realistic guidance and hard practice, the national team will bring glory to the country by giving their best in the Asian Games.
