The Russian House in Dhaka hosted a special meeting for Bangladeshi recipients of the Russian Government Scholarship, where successful scholarship holders received their passports after obtaining their Russian visas, marking an important step toward the beginning of their academic journey in Russia.

The programme brought together scholarship recipients preparing to travel to Russia, alumni of Russian universities, professionals with academic and professional experience in Russia, and current scholarship holders who joined the event online to share their experiences and practical advice with the upcoming students.

The programme began with an opening address by Ms. Alexandra A. Khlevnoy, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, followed by remarks from distinguished guests and alumni of Russian universities, including Professor Dr. Md. Nasim Akhtar, Executive Committee Member of the Soviet Alumni Association, Bangladesh (SAAB); Ar. Tania Atiq, General Secretary of the 14th Executive Committee of SAAB; Dr. Barek Kaiser, Assistant Professor at the University of Development Alternative and graduate of RUDN University; Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Oncoplastic & Reconstructive Breast Surgeon at the N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology in Moscow and graduate of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University; and Erada Tud Diniat, a 2026 graduate of RUDN University and Russian Nuclear Education Ambassador. 

The invited speakers shared their personal experiences of studying, living and developing professionally in Russia, offering the scholarship recipients practical insights into university life, adaptation to a new environment, academic opportunities and the experience of building an international career. 

A particularly valuable part of the programme was the participation of current Bangladeshi scholarship holders studying at Russian universities, who joined the event online from Russia. They shared first-hand experiences and recommendations on topics such as preparing for departure, adapting to student life, communicating with university staff, accommodation, studies and making the most of the opportunities available to international students. 

The exchange gave the new scholarship holders an opportunity to hear directly from those who have already taken the same path and to better understand what awaits them after their arrival in Russia.

For the scholarship recipients, the return of their passports with visas represents more than a completed administrative procedure — it marks the final stage of preparation before embarking on a new academic and personal chapter in Russia.
