BFF to hold official meeting with CBF soon
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will soon hold an official meeting with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to discuss the possibility of inviting the Brazil national team to play a friendly match in Bangladesh and using Bangladesh as a neutral venue for the team in the future.
A CBF delegation, which arrived in Dhaka on Sunday, inspected the facilities of the National Stadium Dhaka, Bashundhara Kings Arena and several hotels before leaving the capital early on Monday, said a press release.
The delegation informed the BFF that it would officially submit its observations and recommendations to the CBF this week.
After inspecting the pitches and surrounding facilities at the National Stadium Dhaka and Bashundhara Kings Arena, the delegation said the quality of the pitches and infrastructure was acceptable for the Brazil national football team.
However, they noted that some improvements are needed in areas such as dressing rooms, technical zones and security at entry and exit gates. The delegation felt that these improvements could be completed within a short period.
The BFF considers the positive assessment by the delegation an important recognition of its decision to renovate and improve the National Stadium pitch through a local company. To make the National Stadium more suitable for international teams and players, the BFF plans to work with the National Sports Council to improve other infrastructure facilities as soon as possible.
At the end of the visit, a meeting was held between the CBF delegation and BFF officials. The meeting discussed cooperation in areas including infrastructure and pitch development, joint coaching programmes, sports science, and international friendly matches.
Members of the Brazilian delegation also expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the football fans of Bangladesh. They said they had seen Bangladeshi fans attending Brazil’s friendly matches in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.
They expressed hope that the Brazil national team would receive the same support and love from football fans in Bangladesh if they play here.
The BFF believes the visit will further strengthen football relations between the two countries and create new opportunities for cooperation in various areas in the future.
